Maito on arvokas, kotimainen raaka-ainePerjantai 12.3.2010 klo 15:08 - Tuomo Hänninen Viime päivien maitokeskustelussa ja -sodassakin laineet ovat läikkyneet yli astioiden. Liikkeellä on ollut asiatonta ja virheellistäkin informaatiota. Pääministerimme blogikirjoitus oman kauppansa maitovalikoimaan liittyen ja sen kommentointi ovat hämmentäneet meidänkin alueellamme. Maassamme on kaksi isoa maitoa keräävää ja jalostavaa ketjua sekä pieniä tuotantolaitoksia. Valio jalostaa valtaosan ja Arla Ingman noin 1100 maidonlähettäjän maidon. Yhteensä jalostettavaa Suomen 57 meijeriin kertyy vuosittain noin 11 000 maidontuottajalta reilu 2000 miljoonaa litraa. On hyvä, että maitoa riittää jalostettavaksi maitotuotteiksi. Juusto Kaira on alueellamme tärkeä maidonkerääjä, jalostaja ja työllistäjä. Välilliset vaikutukset keräilyssä, kaupassa ja koko yhteiskunnassa ovat suuret. Itsenäinen linja ja toiminta Ingmanin ketjun kanssa on ollut ainoa tapa turvata jalostus ja työpaikat alueellamme. Näitä työpaikkoja investointien kautta tullut, sulatejuuston valmistuksen myötä edelleen tulee lisää. Nyt emme tarvitse vastakkainasettelua. Elintarvikeomavaraisuus on edelleen tavoittelemisen arvoinen asia ja merkinnät raaka-aineen alkuperästä tule näkyä selkeästi. Elintarvikealan kehittämisestä ja kilpailukyvystä on huolehdittava yhteistyötä tehden. |
